Eligibility:
Players of all ages, genders and levels are welcome. Players will be allocated into adequate match groups based on skill level.
Matches:
The tournament matches are doubles only. Players will sign up individually and partners will be selected at random for each match. The same partner will not be selected twice unless a player has already partnered with everyone in the same group.
Game and Scoring:
All matches are decided by one game of 21 points. All other rules follow the BWF rules and regulations.
Guaranteed Game:
All players are guaranteed to play a minimum of 6 games in the tournament.
Winners and Medals:
The tournament adopts a point ranking system. Top ranking players from different groups will be invited to play for champion and bronze medal matches for that group. First place, runner-up and third-place teams will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.
Point System:
For each game, players in the winning team will get 3 points and 1 point for the losing team; if a losing team loses by a margin of 6 points or less (which means scoring at least 15 to more) then 2 points are given to the players in the team.
Averaged Standing Point:
An Averaged Standing Point (ASP or AP) per player is calculated from the total points divided by the number of games played. Higher APs contribute to a higher ranking in the ranking board. If two or more players have the same APs, their ranking is decided by the Point Differences (divided by game played, few is better), followed by gender (woman is better) and age (older is better). If all is equal a draw is used.
Champion Match:
Top-ranked four players in each group will be selected to play in the Champion match decided by one 21-point game. Team 1 will be paired by players of Ranking #1 and #4, and Team 2 will be paired by players of Ranking #2 and #3. The winners receive gold medals, and the losing team receive silver medals. Similarly, the #5 ranked player pairs with #8, and the Ranked #6 pairs with #7 to play for the bronze medal.
